error in OOBE EULA after removing RamDisk Z:

Hi, Guys

I uninstalled the RamDisk Z: in Device Manager on Win10 and ran command “%WINDIR%\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /generalize /oobe /reboot”, the oobe process is stuck in the following screen:

Why removing a RamDisk can cause this problem, Is there any workaround for this? Thanks.

Hi,

I noticed the log recorded "Failed to correctly apply disk operation of type" it would be the reason of OOBE failed about disk. However, as Microsoft Q&A forum not support log analysis, so we would not able to provide further assistance on this log.

If you need log analysis support, please create a ticket.

I noticed other third party website says:
How do I uninstall RAMDisk?
The proper way to uninstall RAMDisk is via the Control Panel > Add/Remove Prograns, find and select RAMDisk, and click on ‘Uninstall’.

So I think it would have not big relation with remove action. But it would have relation with ramdisk itself.

Hi,

As ramdisk have risk to cause a fragmentation for disk. We could try the following command line to clean the faulty entries in BCD store and check the issue again.

bcdedit /deletevalue {badmemory} badmemorylist

If the issue persists, I would recommend to format disk before perform sysprep to avoid issue caused by ramdisk.

Thanks. JoyQiao. That command does not work. How should we safely remove RamDisk? OOBE is SUCCESS if RamDisk is not removed.

I successfully uninstalled the RamDisk by resetting the PC.
