offline files: network drive not accessible after enabling offline folder

I am using offline folder quite much and have no problems as long as the network share the folders are on is in the same location I am and network connectivity is several GB. When I choose a folder on a networkshare hosted in another location, with less bandwidth and some latency, the following happens: 1) I mark a folder on that network share as "always available offline" 2) Sync starts, and the whole folder disappears from explorer view Only the folder that synchronized successfully is still visible. After Reboot: P1) When I am offline only the snchronized folder is visible under the drive letter, nothing else (on other where sync worked folder not available offline are greyed out, have an "X" on them, and can't be accessed) P2) When I am ONLINE I can see the whole folder structure one level under the drive letter, but all folders look offline. When I try to access any I get a message: "This folder is currentry not available on this computer". There is no other way to access the broken network share again than:

  1. disabling offline folders entirely 2) reformatting the CSC (instructions how to add the necessary Reg-Key are in this forum) Which means I have to then re-sync all the folders that normally do work.

HDD: 240GB SSD 2 Partitions: System 120 GB, 60 GB free; Data 117GB, 85GB free Data worth synchronising: less than 20 GB

Hi, thanks for looking into this! :-)

I am in a corporate network with sites across the globe that are connected by a single network and AD Domain structure.

The network share I try to synchronize a folder in (not the whole drive!) is permanently mapped with a drive letter, the server is however located in Asia and I am located in Europe.

All I did was to right-click the folder in the drive and select "Make available offline" (or similar, as I have offline files currently disabled I cannot check the exact wording as the context entry is missing).
