    Re: 8007007E = FileNotFoundException

The solution is in the error message "...FileNotFoundException" means there is a file missing, that is, one of the files your program depends on is not deployed.

Run SFC /Scannow to make sure there is no system corruption.

Run CheckSUR to verify there are no system packages that have become damaged.

A repair install is the usual solution of (Checksur.exe) doesn't work.

If the System Update Readiness Tool does not correct the problem, you'll need to repair Windows.

Note: It may take an hour or longer to detect and replace the incorrect data, please be patient. When it is finished, please restart the computer and run Windows Update again.

Try resetting the windows update components and check if you are able to install.

You can reset the windows update components by referring to the article:

How do I reset Windows Update components?

Restart afterwards and see if the updates download now

    Hello Curt,

    Thank you for your reply.

Refer to the section " Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir% \Logs\CBS\CBS.log." in step 3 from the following article to refer To repair the corrupted files manually, view details of the System File Checker process to find the corrupted file, and then manually replace the corrupted file with a known good copy of the file.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Hope this helps. Please revert with the results.

Hello and thank you for the reply.  So far none of these have worked.  I am now attempting chkdsk /r which is taking a long time as it should.  The sfc /scannow DID report corrupted files which is the main issue.  I may re-install WIN7 (not clean) if this doesn't work.  Again thank you for the suggestion(s).

I am also getting this error while trying to update to Win10. I believe it's because I have the System Builder version of Win7 Pro.
