I was not able to connect to MDS through Excel. Was getting an error message: The requested service, 'http://XYZ:8080/service/service.svc/bhb' could not be activated. See the server's diagnostic trace logs for more information.

I found this: https://www.codeproject.com/articles/1168354/master-data-services-insufficient-memory-error and then checked the event viewer and then found that this is happening because of insufficient memory.

Then restricted SQL Server to use 54 GB out of 64 GB and it was fixed
