Operation Not Permitted Error using Microsoft Remote Desktop on MAC

I'm trying to connect to a VPS from a MAC as I usually do, but this time it prompts me the message "Operation Not Permitted" right away.
I used to connect to this VPS every day, and though nothing changed it doesn't connect anymore, not to this one, other users, or other machines.

    Hi,

Do you mean your MAC cannot remote connect to any machine not only to the VPS?

What's the version of Microsoft Remote Desktop for MAC? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the app or update the app to the latest version?

From the error message "Operation Not Permitted", it seems a user permission issue. Please double confirm if the user you are using to run remote desktop app is an administrator account.

I did some research and found some issues with error message "Operation Not Permitted", but they were all releated to "Terminal". You can try the steps to see if they can also solve the problem of Remote Desktop.

    1. Pull down the Apple menu and choose ‘System Preferences’
    2. Choose “Security & Privacy” control panel
    3. Now select the “Privacy” tab, then from the left-side menu select “Full Disk Access”
    4. Click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference panel and authenticate with an admin level login
    5. Now click the [+] plus button to add an application with full disk access
    6. Navigate to the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and choose “Microsoft Remote Desktop” to grant the app with Full Disk Access privileges
    7. Relaunch Microsoft Remote Desktop app to see if the error will be gone.

    Thanks,

    Eleven
