Hi Jeremy,

  1. When exactly are you getting this error message? Is it when you are searching for any Apps in the Windows Store?
  2. Are you able to open the Windows Store App without any issues?

Let’s try clearing the store cache and check if that helps.

Method 1: Clear the Store cache

You may try clearing the cache for the Store and check if it helps:

a)       Press the “Windows Logo” + “R” on the keyboard.

b)       Type “WSReset.exe” and press “Enter”.

c)       Reboot the computer and try updating the Apps.

If the problem is not resolved, continue to Method 2.

Method 2: Run the app troubleshooter suggested in the following link.

If you have any further queries, or if this issue persists, reply here and we will be glad to help you.

    WSRESET.EXE generates a message:

    ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches

    The remote procedure failed.

Had a virus/trojan removed.  Prevented uninstalls using MSI Installer and blocking access to Microsoft website.
