Windows Update Error code 80070539

I am unable to update Windows even though it shows 59 updates available. Everytime I try it fails with the following error code: 80070539. Upon trying the troubleshooting help get the following results:

2 results for "WindowsUpdate_80070539" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" 1.  1 Windows Update error 800B0100 .

I have tried Microsoft fixit as well as the What is the System Update Readiness Tool? on the Windows website,but does not resolve.

I am running Windows 7 Home edition 32bit.

    Thanks a lot. Problem resolved after removing Google desktop program.
