Hi all, I really need help in this.

I was playing game and the PC just freezed, I had no choice but to force restart it. But, after reboot I got this error message:

"Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors.

File:\Boot\BCD

Error code: 0xc000000f

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer."

Can anyone suggest what is the cause of this problem and how can I fix it?

Thanks a lot.

My PC running Windows 8 Pro 64bit, OS installed on a OCZ Vector 128G SSD.

    Hi,

We need additional information to assist you, please answer these questions.

    1.       Which game were you playing?

    2.       What is the make and model of the computer?

    3.       Are you using 3^rd^ party antivirus application on your computer?

    4.       Do you have a Windows 7 installation disc with you?

Blue screen error errors can be caused by both hardware and software issues. Automatic repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. Startup Repair scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer can start correctly. I would suggest you to refer to the following information and check the issue status.

I would suggest you to perform the Automatic repair using the Windows DVD or System Repair Disc. If the issue still persists. Perform System Restore from Advanced Options screen.  Refer to the following steps.

Note: System Restore doesn’t change your personal files, but it might remove recently installed apps and drivers. Follow the steps:

    a) After you boot your computer using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.

    b) Select the correct time and Keyboard type.

    c) Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    d) Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.

    e) Click advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.

    f) Select Automatic repair/System Restore.

If you do not have Windows installation disc or System Repair Disc, contact the computer manufacturer.

    Hi, thx for the reply.

    1. I was playing Dota;
    2. It is DIY PC: asus p8z77 v-pro with i5 3570k, sapphire hd7850 2g oc, g.skill 1866ghz 8G, OCZ Vector 128G SSD.
    3. I was using Avast Premier trial version
    4. my Os was win 8. I dont have the original disc.

It might be the SSD problem, cause I encountered similar problems 1 mth ago and the change of a new SSD solved my problem at that time.

Excuse me ! I also have this problem now... And I tried to follow these steps, but unlucky I don't know what first key which I have to type  : F2 or F12 .Anyway I pressed F12 to boot at once time and then I couldn't type it again anymore . Furthermore in InsydeH20 Setup Utility has only 4 options: Information, Main, Security, Boot, Exit , so I couldn't find that advance option..

    Please any comments?
