Yes, I've disabled a program at the startup in msconfig, just because I thought it was suspicious and I didn't know how to uninstall it. I've also completely uninstalled the BitDefender Free AV. That solved it.
Runtime error '339' missing vbwExtender.ocx
[Windows Vista 32b SP2]
First off, hello everyone I'm new, this place looks very professional and I am happy to join this place!
I am having this runtime error for about a week on my brother's computer. It pops as soon as the computer loads up. I assume it started ever since I've installed BitDefender Free AV. At the first, everything would hang, any running program and it's extensions. After I've removed the AV the error still exists when I load up the system but I can surf the web and do casual work like before. It seems very similar to this error on a previous thread. So far I've ran a registry cleanup via CCleaner and nothing else yet. I've searched the web, and there are a lot of very similar and shady "hacker-free" sites that offer a 5MB~10MB magical fix to my specific issue! But I passed on those. I am hoping to receive a good manual fix from a pro. Thank you all in advance!
The thread I was referring to: (" http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_7-windows\_programs/run-time-error-339-missing-comdlg32ocx-file/0e28d117-785c-4f9c-81e9-fdb1951b5865?msgId=27a895eb-ec43-40b9-81a6-9d812d917aaf")
Edit: well, I've replaced the AV to MSE and disabled some stuff on the restart and no more errors, I'm guessing that's that?

2013-09-12T19:52:50+00:00 Hi,
Sorry for the delayed response. I understand that you receive a runtime error whenever you log into your brother`s computer.
You also mention that you have "disabled some settings". Please let us know where did you disable this from. From the issue that you have stated and the troubleshooting that you have tried, it appears that some third party startup program or service is causing the issue.
Please check if the disabled programs are in use by you. If so, you may either reinstall or upgrade the program by visiting the manufacturer website.
If not, you may check if you can uninstall the programcompletely. Do let us know if this does not help.
Thank You.
