Windows 7 Professional Does Not Recognize Network Devices

I loaded Windows 7 Professional 64-bit onto my HP Pavilion dm3t Entertainment PC WY757AV and now the network devices are not recognized.

The devices worked fine on the same type of OS previously.

The network devices are now listed in Device Manager as "Other Devices" and no specific devices are listed under Properties.

I have read the advice that says to obtain the updated drivers from the HP site, but it wants to be able to search my HP PC. This, of course, is not possible, since the network drivers are not working.

I have found a help post that shows how to identify the manufacturer and device id in order to download the drivers for a few devices: Ethernet controller, Network controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, but I am not confident this process will work for me.

Any suggestions on how I should proceed from here?

Thanks so much.

The reply seems to assume I have an Internet connection, but that's the problem.

After re-loading Windows 7 Professional, following an update to the HD with a semiconductor device, the OS could not recognize the drivers that were in place for the wireless card.

Fortunately, the IT guy at work fixed the problem and we're ok now. Thanks for your reply. Regards.

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community Forum.

Let me ask you a few questions in order understand the concern better.

    1. Are you trying to download and install latest network driver from the manufacturer's website?
    2. Did you make any Hardware or Software change prior to the issue?

I suggest you to try the following methods.

Method 1: What to do when a device isn't installed properly

Method 2: Update the driver from the computer manufacturer

    Visit****www.support.hp.com

Enter the product/model number exactly as "HP Pavilion dm3t Entertainment PC WY757AV" (without quotes) in the field which says "Find my product and get support" and click on GO.

    Then click on Drivers.

Choose the correct operating system (64 Bit) and click Next.

You will be able to find drivers for all devices.
