Admin Issues When Installing SQL Express 2012 on Windows 8

HI

I'm running windows 8 (64 bit) on my computer. I'm trying to Install SQL EXPRESS 2012 (SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU) on my computer and I get the following error message:

The following error has occurred:The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Binn.  The installation cannot continue.  Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.Click 'Retry' to retry the failed action, or click 'Cancel' to cancel this action and continue setup. For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=20476&ProdName=Microsoft%20SQL%20Server&EvtSrc=setup.rll&EvtID=50000&ProdVer=11.0.3128.0&EvtType=0xDF039760%25401201%25401

I'm logged on as an admin on this computer. I even tried to change the security permissions on the \MSSQL\ folder to full control, but I'm being denied access. What gives? Does Windows 8 have a hidden admin account and how do I get into it?  I even tried activating an admin account through:  Net user administrator /active:yes but still no luck.  I just want to install SQL Express, why does it have to be so convoluted??!! :(

    Hi,

We have a separate department where they handle all the issues related to the SQL Server Express. This query is more appropriate to the IT Professionals on the TechNet Forums. So, I would suggest you to post this query on the TechNet SQL Server Express Forum from this link:
