Problems installing Directx Runtime

Question

I'm having trouble installing the DirectX End-User Runtime.

DXError.log says:

Cursory searches have yielded nothing useful. This is a fresh Windows 8 install on a midrange ASUS notebook. Any ideas?

Hi,

You might try downloading the full 96MB installer and give it a try...

I've never had a problem with it, but that doesn't mean others have not.

I'm using the web installer, so I didn't extract anything.

How are you trying to install... from the web, or the full download...

Are you double clicking on the download, or did you extract it to a folder?
