Cannot Accept Windows Essentials 2012

After installing Windows Essentials 2012, I cannot accept the license agreement, no matter how many times I click "accept", nothing happens.

Possibly related: Also when I install Office on this particular computer, the installer itself breaks.

Movie Maker in particular gives me Error 80070005.

    Hi jimbo1qaz,

Thanks for coming back and I apologize for the delay in response. Please do not worry since the command that you run will just remove the specified directory you set. In the meantime, try to troubleshoot your concern by following these:

    1. Press Windows + R then type wlstartup.exe.
    2. Press Ok then sign in your Microsoft account.
    3. After that, please check again if you can now accept the License Agreement.

In case the issue still persists, I would like to ask some questions:

    • If nothing happens after clicking accept, does opening the program again will show the License Agreement again?
    • When do you receive the error 80070005 in Movie Maker?
    • Does the issue happen to all of Windows Essentials programs?

    We'll wait for your response.

    Regards,

    Richard

    I accidentally ran a ' del /s "C:\Program Files\Windows Live" ' instead of a rmdir /s. Has it damaged my system?

There was no Windows Live folder, but there was a x86\CommonFiles\WindowsLive that I deleted. After reinstalling, it still doesn't work.

    Hi jimbo1qaz,

Thanks for posting back and I apologize for the delay in response. Since you have tried manually re-installing Windows Essentials, I suggest that you try clean re-installing it. Here's how:

    1. Uninstall Windows Essentials using CMD Line Parameter.
    2. Delete the Windows Live folders (if any) found on the following directories:
    • C:\Program Files\Windows Live
    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live
    1. Download Windows Essentials and install.

    Kindly update us afterwards.

    Regards,

    Richard

I already tried repairing, no use. I also tried a full un/reinstall, no use either.

When I tried un/reinstalling Movie Maker only, it didn't help either. Same problem. On my laptop, I can accept license and install Office. I think my main computer is somehow messed up.
