Unicode ñ does not work (Spanish)

When I switch to Spanish mode, and type the key were the U+00F1 character, Spanish

[ n tilde ] should be based on the keybord map, it does nothing.   Correction . . . . actually

it  does do something . . . . it switches to Greek.   The shortcuts I have for the language

switch call for [ ctrl - then a number ]  to switch languages.   Windows 7 Ultimate was

able to do all these changes smoothly, but I am having difficulty getting windows 8 to

work right.   If I hold my mouse over the taskbar were the current language is displayed,

it gives the current language, then says "To switch input methods, press Windows

key+space . . . . which does absolutely nothing.

    Hi Shawn,

You may face this issue if language pack files are corrupted or due to third party software conflict. Follow these methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the language pack and check if it helps:

Language packs are available for Windows 8 and for Windows RT

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2607607/en-us

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Check if you face the similar issue in Safe Mode, if not you can try putting your computer in a Clean Boot state in normal mode and check if it helps:

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:

Follow the Microsoft KB article to perform clean boot on the computer. A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista
