    Hi Andy,

Were there any changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

Follow these methods to resolve the issue with installing updates from Windows Store:

    Method 1:

You may try to restart the computer in **clean boot** mode to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

Note: After troubleshooting, see the section “How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting” to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

Refer to the article and check if it helps:

    Troubleshoot problems with installing updates

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates

    Method 3:

I would suggest you to reset the Windows Store cache:

    a.     Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.

(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)

    b.    Enter “Run” without quotes in the search box, and then tap or click Run.

    c.     Type “WSReset.exe” without quotes and press Enter.

Hope it helps. If you have any further issues on the computer, please post your question regarding Windows and we will be happy to help you.
