What did Canon support say when you contacted them?
Printer not responding to Windows7
I recently purchased a Canon Pixma IP2700 printer and have not been about to print from my home computer. Everything says it is installed correctly and any troubleshooter I run says all is in order, however the status of the printer is "printer not responding". I have read all the forums and tried everything suggested such as re-installing the driver, resetting the printer, and playing with printer properties and deleting old printer drivers to no avail. Yesterday I brought home an old laptop from work that runs windows XP and the printer worked just fine on it so I know it is not a hardware problem with the printer. I must be a problem with my Windows7 home computer. Any suggestions?

In the recent batch of Windows Updates, Microsoft installed Internet Explorer 11. IE11 had been causing printer problems.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.
