Previous password count

I was trying to reset a password on an old Microsoft account and accidentally reset the password on my main account. I really want to use my old password, but it keeps telling me I can't use a previous password. Is there a count of previous passwords that Microsoft keeps to compare? ie. At work our AD saves the past 6. That way I could change my password 7 times and on the 7th, I could use my 1st password.

Hi Alex,

Online services block the re-use of old password for a time period for security. There is no option to change this.

It is by design that you will not be able to use your old password after changing it. This is a security feature of all Microsoft accounts which cannot be turned off.

Please post if you have any questions on issues related to Windows.
