    Hi there,

What I suggest you do is the following.

Go to Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore

Checkmark the option: Restore my computer to an earlier time and click Next.

From the calendar which appears, choose a date when you know the PC was working properly and then click Next.

System Restore takes a few mins to run during which the PC will reboot. If the restoration was successful, you'll see a message to that effect.

Try and do what you did before which caused the exception. Hopefully it won't reappear.

Be aware though that any programs, antivirus updates and the like which you installed after the restore point you choose to go back to will have to be reinstalled.
