ODBC Data Source Administrator Crashes

Hello all,

I've got a user in my organization that experiences a crash in ODBC Data Source Administrator when he clicks the File DSN tab. The mouse cursor switches to "busy" and will remain that way unless we force close the program. While the cursor stays this way in ODBC Data Source Administrator, the user is able to launch other programs and work otherwise normally. This happens with both the 32 and 64-bit version.

Any help at all here is appreciated.

Thank you.

I have the solution. Microsoft issued a hotfix for ole32.dll causing programs to crash. Information and download link are available here:

As you know, the File DSN tab of the ODBC Data Source Administrator is very similar to a common File, Open dialog. Anything that is comprised of opening file is subject to anti-virus security as well as security to networked or shared locations and removable media. Does the user have any similar problems when opening a file from a conventional program's File, Open dialog?
