    Hi AlNorthrup,

From the given issue description, you are unable to install Microsoft Flight Simulator X game on your Windows 8 computer and it gives an error code: 1722 followed by another error code: 1603.

The error code: 1722, usually happens when you try to reinstall the Microsoft Flight Simulator X game on the computer. The 1722 error message is a general installer error message stating that a system level failure has occurred. In most cases, you experience a setup failure in the Setup program that is associated with registering fonts. In this case, you will receive another error message that is followed by a "1605" installer error code.

To resolve this issue, let’s try running the Software Licensing System Reset Tool. Follow these steps and check if that helps.

Run the Software Licensing System Reset Tool and check the result.

    a)       Please click on the link given below to download the “Software Licensing System Reset Tool”.

    b)       When you receive the “File Download” dialog box, choose download destination as “Desktop” and then click on “Save”.

    c)       When the download is complete, click on “Close”.

    d)       Now, double-click the file “MSKB928080.exe” file, which you have just downloaded from the Desktop.

    e)       When you are prompted to accept the license agreement, click “Yes”.

    f)        Extract the files to the folder: C:\MicrosoftKB928080”.

    g)       Now, to run the Software Licensing System Reset Tool, follow the steps:

           i.   Press “Windows **** Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Command Prompt (Admin )”.

ii.   In the Command Prompt window, type “*cd C:*” and then press “Enter”.

iii.   Type “cd MicrosoftKB928080” and again press “Enter”.

iv.   Type “resetsldl -All” and press “Enter”.

Now, you will be prompted for the license reset. After that, you may try installing the game again and check if that resolves the issue. If the issue still persists, then I would suggest you to get in touch with the Microsoft Flight Simulator Technical Support from this link:

    Hope this is helpful.
