How to select multiple files without making more of the same file?

How can I make Microsoft software into a non time consuming program?

Lets say you keep seeing files not in order that you are picking. Next thing you know, all of a sudden-you just doubled all the files you selected. So how do you stop this from happening?

When this happens-you have to undelete everything on your list. So all the files you clicked-you have to now unclick all your files and start at the beginning.

From what I can understand, there is something there with pixels that is set to like three pixels away interprets this as copying your file.

So this is what you have to change. There is a solution-you either need to go into the registry or into your power shell which brings the same reaction-I don't know enough and don't want to wipe my computer by mistake-so I will leave Windows Registry and Power Shell alone.

So is there some kind of update I missed that fixes this?

Is there an app or program to help people make these changes?

Can Microsoft make a feature that does not waste our time?

If they can, why don't they?

Am not looking for what others think are efficient and easy to use tools. I am talking about how can I select multiple files at the same time without needing a programming degree or back ground to make their software work then way it should.

You said yourself, the problem comes when you double-click all the files you selected.

My suggestion would be to stop doing that.

You can also use checkboxes to select files, so that you don't have to worry about holding Ctrl to multi-select.  That option is a simple selection under your Folder Options.  Once you turn it on, it looks like this:

Has nothing to do with what you are saying

When trying to search alternative sights for solutions-came across this. I know my description might not be as concise or giving a similar understanding. Got this from How To Geek website in a search. Will be looking for a Windows 7 fix where this only deals with XP and Vista.

**Fixing Annoyances: Stop Windows from Copying Files Accidentally When Ctrl-Click Selecting**

Have you ever tried to select a bunch of files in Windows Explorer while holding down the Ctrl key, and then all of a sudden there are duplicate copies of all of those files sitting in the folder? Really irritating, so how do we fix it?

To illustrate the problem, you try and select a number of files by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on each one… and then suddenly you’ve got a ton of copies of all your files. This gets even more annoying in a large directory, because now you’ve got to remove the copies.

The reason this happens is because you moved your mouse more than 4 pixels while clicking down on a file, so Windows assumes you’ve dragged the files and want to copy them, and is happy to litter your folder with duplicates.

Fixing Copy Annoyance in Windows XP

If you are running Windows XP, you can use Microsoft’s free Tweak UI utility to configure the drag setting easily. What we’ll do is tell Windows not to assume that we’re dragging until we’ve move more than 4 pixels, which should eliminate this problem, but still make drag and drop work fine for regular operations.

Just click on Mouse on the left-hand side, and then change the value under “Drag” to something more than 4 pixels.

On a different note, sometimes I get really frustrated with Windows 7 for a lot of reason including I spend more time trying to find answers in websites, books, and ect. Does not give me the right to sound angry all the time but if anything-hopefully changing the perception I am mad at no one who responds. By the time I get to this issue-have already looked at quite a bit before getting to this point. I understand this does not give me permission to act in a certain way to people. Hopefully just give understanding I am not upset at you-mainly myself and Microsoft. In my own frustrations-don’t always have the words to explain in a concise and understandable manner. Word Aphasia. Again, not trying to use it as an excuse.
