Hi All,

Whenever I click on any link, I get this error: Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. I have tried using firefox, IE. Tried reseting the broswer, even uninstalled and reinstalled but issue remains same. I have observed that secured sites https:// are opening but http:// sites are throwing the error. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

Kindly help.

    Hello Swati,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Community Forum.

I would like to know some information about the issue so that we could assist you further.

    1. Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
    2. Did you install any proxy software on the computer?
    3. Which antivirus is installed on the computer?
    4. Do you use Wireless or Ethernet internet connection?

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

Method 1: If the issue does not resolve Disable Proxy Connections and check the issue.

If you are using a proxy connection, then try disabling proxy and then try to open store.

    a)Open Internet Explorer

    b) Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options

c)Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings

    d) Uncheck the Use Proxy server

    e) Click Apply and Ok to save changes.

Method 2 If the issue does not resolved follow the steps given below.

    Step 1

Start your computer in safe mode with networking.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Choose the option for safe mode with networking from advanced option.

Step 2: If the system works fine in the safe mode networking, try to clean boot the system:

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

Method 3 If the issue does not resolve try to disable anti-virus and check the issue.

    Disable anti-virus software

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Disable-antivirus-software

Important Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
