Question

While sharig document anyone option is disabled in sharepoint library

I would like to use below highlighted option in the screenshot to share document with anyone. Please help me in clarifying my below questions.
Why it is disabled? How to enable?
And in the specific people category I tried to add Gmail account but it is not resolving, what should I add to resolve external mail id I specific people area? Please help.

1.Here’re steps to enable external sharing.
(1)Go to SharePoint admin center -> Polices -> Sharing -> Set "Content can be shared with" as "Anyone".

(2)Go to SharePoint admin center -> Active sites -> Select the site -> Sharing -> Set "Site content can be shared with" as "Anyone".

(3)Go to the site -> Site permission -> Site sharing.

2.By default, Gmail account is allowed. If you encounter issues, please provide screenshots of share to specific user with Gmail account.

Hi Emily Du,

First one is resolved. I tried as per you suggestions, but although gmail id is valid it is not taking. Please find attached screenshot. Please help further. Thank you.

1.Go to Office 365 admin center -> Users -> Guest users -> Check whether this gmail account in it -> If the account exists, delete it, then try to share file with this gmail account.
2.Create a new gmail account, then try to share file with the new gmail account.

Hi Emily Du,

whatever Gmail account shown above did not work and showing same error.
But I added a another Gmail account it worked, mail received to spam folder instead of actual inbox. and that to in JPG format ( actual file is in PDF)

and no Gmail account is there in the guest users area. so we no need to add anything guest users right? because I noticed now with out even adding in guest users area it worked.

and why it did not work above Gmail account?
and why it worked even we did not add in the guest users list?
and when I tried to add in guest users it is taking to Azure AD with 2 step sign in process.

You only need to access the file through the email you received. You don’t need to add the gmail account into guest users and also don’t need to add the gmail account into Azure AD.

It should be that only the above gmail account has a problem, in this situation, I suggest you open a service request with Microsoft for remote help.

But I saw in one of the video anyone option is enabled , why it is not working for me?

I also noticed file was able to share to gmail account, why this option also not working for me?
