Two problems with Surface adobe reader.

1.    If you attach a non-touch monitor to the Surface and project the reader output to the monitor, you cannot scroll back and forth.

2.   Whenever you try to fill data into the into a pdf-file, you get a  message reads like 'not authorized'.  You close the message and enter

data anyway, and it accepts it.  It is very annoying.

Does anybody have a solution.

    Mr. Ratandeep:

There is only one User on this Surface.  The Administrator/User is the same.  I ran the User Profile troubleshooter - found no problem.

FYI, if I run Adobe Reader in Windows 7 compatibility mode, the input message problem goes away.

The problem continues in Windows 8.1 Pro.

    Thanks,

    Hello Upi,

Thank you for keeping us updated on the status of the issue.

I appreciate your efforts in resolving the issues in your computer.

I would suggest you to check the data input issue in new user account.

    Refer:

    Create a user account

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account

If issue does not persist in new user account then copy the data from old user account to new one.

To do so, Refer this article:

    Fix a corrupted user profile

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-corrupted-user-profile

    I hope this information helps.

    Thank you

    Martin

I have found a solution to the Scrolling problem.  In Adobe Reader, go to View, Select Page Display and

Enable Scrolling.  It does not give you the Scroll Bar.  However, if gives you the "Hand" when you click on your mouse and you can drag the " Hand" to scroll back and forth.

The problem with data input is still outstanding.

    Thanks,

Both screens have the same resolution `1920x1080.  Tried the Settings for Pen Input/Touch input.

No effect on the non-touch screen.

Tried Adobe Reader as the default program.  No difference  .  Tried the Reader as the default; program.

Even worse - cannot move the display to the second screen.

The message that I get when I try to enter data is:  "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or

file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item".  I click OK and can then enter

    the data.

Thanks for trying to help.  The problems still exist.

    Hi,

Are you facing this scrolling issue only with the Adobe reader app?

I would suggest you to set both displays to the same resolution and then check if the issue persists. If the issue persists, I would suggest you to try the steps suggested in the section ‘Control how the cursor behaves when one monitor is a touchscreen and the other isn’t’ in this article:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors

You have also mentioned that when you input into the data fields in a PDF document, you get a notification stating “not authorized’ but if you close the notification, you are able to enter the input. Does this issue occur when you use the built-in Reader app? I would suggest you to set the Adobe reader app as the default app and then check if the issue persists. Refer to this article:

    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2911

Try these steps and let us know the results.
