control panel says please wait until current program is finished uninstalling... for 2 days

I have been trying to uninstall Conduit, Search Protect from my Sony Vaio for 2 days.  I went to the Control Panel, clicked on the program and then clicked uninstall. That was 2 days ago and the program has not uninstalled yet.  It is still listed in the Control Panel and when I click on it and click uninstall again it pops up the "Please wait until the current program is uninstalled or changed" box. How do I  get it to finish uninstalling?

What version of Windows are you using?
