2014-06-28T07:57:07+00:00 Hello Cris,
Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Community Forum.
I would like to know some information about the issue so that we could assist you further.
1. When did you get 1601, 6001 and 0x800CCC0B error on the computer?
2. What is the exact error you get on shutdown, installation and uninstallation?
3. Did you make any software or hardware changes prior to the issue?
4. What is the make and model number of the computer?
5. Did you able to install windows updates on the computer?
Check the update history for any failed updates.

I would suggest you to try the following steps:
Method 1: Try to disconnect the external devices and check the issue.
Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc.) except mouse and the keyboard and then boot up.
If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get updated driver software for the device.
Method 2: Try to clean boot the system and check the issue.
A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot.

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.
Method 3: Please check the windows installer service for installation and uninstallation error.
Step 1: Check the Windows Installer Service.
- Click Start Orb, in the start search box, type Services and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find the Windows Installer. Double-click “Windows Installer” in the Services list.
- On the General tab, make sure the service is started under “Service status”.
- If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK.
Step 2: Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer
- Click Start Orb, in the start search box, type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click OK.
- Click Start Orb, in the start search box, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click OK. After you run this command, the operation is complete.
- Now, try your installation again.
Please provide event viewer logs. Refer to the suggestions by ZigZag on the thread below for steps on extracting Event Viewer Logs:

2014-06-28T06:47:42+00:00 Hello Cris,
Thank you for reaching out to us at Microsoft Community Forum.
This problem may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
- The Windows Installer files that are on your hard disk are damaged or are missing.
- You install or remove a program that uses the Windows Installer Microsoft Software Installation (MSI) package file (.msi). For example, this may occur when you try to install Microsoft Office on your computer.
Let us try the below methods.
Method 1: To check whether the Windows Installer service is set to a value of Disable
- Click Start, type services.msc in the start search box and press enter.
- In the Services (Local) list, right-click Windows Installer, and then click Properties.
- If the Startup type drop-down list is set to a value of Disable, select the Manual option from the Startup type drop-down list.
- Click on Start button below the heading service status and click OK.
Method 2: Re-register the windows installer
- Click Start, open the run box (windows key +R)
- Type msiexec.exe /unreg and click ok.
- If you receive a confirmation message, click OK again.
- Click Start, open the run box (windows key +R)
- Type msiexec /regserver and click ok.
- If you receive a confirmation message, click OK again.
- Try to install the application and see if the issue persists.
- If you still get the error then try next method.
Method 3
Download the latest version of windows installer and install It on your computer.
