I've been having an issue where my computer randomly freezes up.  There doesn't seem to be anything correlating to it.   It freezes when I leave it sitting, and when I'm using it.  Sometimes it'll freeze for 20 seconds and then recover, other times it'll freeze for anywhere from about 30 seconds to a few minutes before blue-screening.  I've read the dump, and all I can get from it is that it's a usbhub.sys.  Looking into it further with !irp, I can see something called hidusb.  Most people with this issue found third party drivers which when removed solved their issue, but as far as I can tell this is a windows driver.  Any help?

One other thing, that may or may not be causally related to this, but I have noticed that my battery gets miscalibrated every time it crashes.  Meaning, that if my battery is at 50% at the time of the crash, my computer then perceives that level of charge to be 100% until I do a recalibration.  I suspected the battery controller may have been the cause of the crashes, but my computer still crashes even with the battery removed.

There's my crash dump for you to look at.

    This one crash was Related to usbhub.sys Microsoft USB Standard Hub Driver.  I would start by running a system file check.

    Please run a system file check (SFC)

    All instructions are in our Wiki article below...

    Here's a minidump of the crash. It's been frustrating the **** out of me trying to get it to crash, most of the time it just sits there frozen for all eternity, and then half of the time when it does bluescreen it will sit there for all eternity and never actually creates the dump (well, it does, but it has no information in it).

    It's very bizzare. When it freezes up, I can usually still access the metro screen, and whatever is running in the ram usually continues (something like a skype call), but everything on my screen is nonresponsive. In addition, there is no disk activity at all during this time.

    This DMP is corrupt and of little use other than to tell us the problem is USB related.  We will need to wait for the next one but while we are can you change the settings in your system control panel to small DMP (see below instructions) as it will make it much faster to upload and download

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.

    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.

    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.

    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).

    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.

    * OK your way out.

    * Reboot if changes have been made.
