Camera Sensor Error Code: This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

Hey,

I have an Asus transformer book T100TA. I've installed nothing over the last few days or changed anything, besides an automatic Windows Update.

However, my camera has stopped working. The light is always on, sometimes after shut down. If i click on the Camera icon it asks me to connect, therefore not recognising the internal camera.

In Device manager it comes up with:  'This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE'.

I have tried troubleshooting ( it identified there was a problem, but said it could not fix it), installing any additional updates suggested, installing a device driver myself (checked it was compatible but it ran through it and just said the same error code).

It's a fairly new laptop so i don't have any system restore points to return to, on the off chance the driver was corrupted by the update.

If i try installing a driver update through the device manager, it says it can find driver software but encounters problems when attempting to install it stating (again): This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Any suggestions/ideas? Has the camera somehow broken, or is it a driver issue?

    Hi,

I couldn’t find any separate camera driver for this model in the Asus website. In this case, I would suggest you to install the Asus live update utility and check if it find any updated driver for the camera. If not, uninstall the camera driver and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. Now restart the computer and Windows will automatically try to start the device with the generic built-in driver. Here is a link to download the latest BIOS and chipset driver for your computer model:

    I have the same problem.

Error 10 with my Acer Aspire with Windows 10.

Camera Sensor Error 0V2722 and it is marked in the list as not working.

    The drivers are the latest.

    What to do?

    Hey,

I've already done as the article suggests (apart from directly contacting the hardware vendor's technical support). I have tried updating the driver (it won't allow me to update but says it needs updating) and ran the automated troubleshooting service (it identifies a problem but cannot fix it). I tried to manually update the driver but it says it cannot seeing as the device cannot start, so i seem to just be looping.

I've reinstalled the camera sensor (as the troubleshooting suggests) but it just comes back saying that the camera sensor has a driver problem but it has not fixed it.

The options listed afterwards to try and solve the problem are: to search the help or do a system recovery, which i cannot seeing as i do not have a restore point.

Just seem to be looping and nothing works...
