    Hi,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

I would suggest you to set the computer in a clean boot state and check if the issue occurs or not.

Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows

    Note:

After clean boot troubleshooting steps, refer to the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" in the provided link.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with updated status of the issue to assist you further.

The default keyboard layout will only help if the default keyboard layout aligns with my actual layout of the keyboard connected. Adding a layout is silly. Nobody has two or three keyboards connected to his or her computer. The solution would be to CHANGE it once and for ever. It makes no sense for the OS to include a layout for a keyboard that is not available / connected.

There is a difference between a language and a keyboard. The keyboard is a physical gadget that is not changed at will. People, however, at least outside the US, are able to use different languages at different times. The keyboard has relatively little to do with that.

The information didn't help. I know how to add a keyboard layout. What I don't know is how to change apparently build-in US-layout.

    Hi,

**Method 1:**I would suggest you to try to set a keyboard layout as default one and check if it helps.

To set a keyboard as your default keyboard, so you don't have to switch input methods to enter text with it, follow these steps:

    a) Open Language in Control Panel by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Add a language in the search box, and then selecting Add a language.

    b) Tap or click Advanced settings.

    c) Under Override for default input method, choose the keyboard layout you'd like to be your default keyboard, and then tap or click Save.

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to remove and add those languages again and check if it helps.

Refer to the article for additional information.

    Thanks Robert

Hitting Win+SPace could have been the cause if any of the language settings would include a US Keyboard. It doesn't.
