Receiving Errors - One is: error decompressing python27.dll

Hello,

I've received a number of Blue Screen errors lately.  A couple of which have indicated that I needed to do a check disk.  I've ran the check disk but continue crashing.  Following are the latest errors that I received after a crash and reboot:

error decompressing python27.dll

error -5 from inflate: (null)

I have checked for malware and viruses but have not detected anything.

The IE and Chrome browsers seem to be very unstable and I'm usually using one or both when the crash/blue screen occurs.  I have created a new user profile in the Chrome browser but I do not see the ability to do this in IE.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Angela

    Hello Angela,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    1. Does the Blue screen occurs only when you use Internet  Explorer and Chrome

browser? 2. When do you get the error?

I would suggest you to try following steps to diagnose the problem better, boot the computer in safemode with networking and then try using Internet explorer and chrome and check if the computer crashes. If the computer does not crash, proceed with clean boot

Step 1: Check the issue in Safe mode with Networking

Safe mode starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode with networking then place the computer in clean boot and check.

Start your computer in safe mode with Networking

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7

Step 2: Place the computer in clean boot state and check for conflicting 3rd party application or service. Clean boot state helps you to disable all the 3rd party services.

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section “How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting” to reset the computer to start as usual.

Note: Whenyou use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs

and updates that you installed are removed.

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

Important: I highly recommend backing up all of your important files and folders ontoan external storage device before attempting any type of OS repair or upgrade.

Hope this helps. Please revert back with the status of the issue.
