Hi, my user profile was corrupted. After following what Microsoft support told me to do, I had reinstalled Windows with the media creation tool (Upgrade to Windows 10). It allowed me to log back into the microsoft account that had issues, however the files itself are still stored on the old user profile. The registry shows that it’s pointing to a new folder. Can I change the profileimagepath to point towards the old folder that had my info?

If you create a new account with administrative rights, logon with new account, then after saving off docs, etc. from corrupt/abandoned profiles use Control Panel|System|Users and Passwords and delete the old profile stores. Then when you next logon a new profile is created from an image in \default user then you can copy your saved data back to new profile.

I can still access the files through C:\Users, but when I login, it directs to a newly created folder. For example, it should direct to C:\Bob, but instead the profileimagepath is directing to C:Bob.284uba. Can I just edit the registry key and point it back to C:Bob?

    Hi

If your profile has been corrupted I don't think it is better to move your files: Documents and desktop and begin to use the new profile. I know that many of your settings will be gone, but I still think it will be a better solution that way around.

    Best Regards

Well you can always give it a try, but be sure to make a backup of your data first. Just remember that there is a reason why your profile was corrupt in the first place.

You might end up with another corrupt profile again.
