Power BI Install Problem

Anonymous

Hello,

I attempted to install Power BI.  It appears it has installed, however when I start up the app I just get a blue screen.

When I uninstall by double clicking on the program in the task bar, it doesn't really uninstall.....  When I go back to the store, it shows "this app is installed".

It seems I got a bad install, how do I force a re-install or un-install?

Thanks

    No luck with wsreset

SFC scan returns: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

    Hi Imre,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

Try the steps listed here and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to clear the store cache and check if it helps.

    a. Press "Windows key + R".

    b. Type wsreset.exe and click OK.

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to perform SFC (System File Checker) Scan and check if it helps. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and replace them.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

It is just an issue for Power BI.

I did all the things in the first link you gave me for troubleshooting, except that uninstall seems impossible.

What exactly do I need to do with DISM to ensure that PowerBI is removed from the computer and my store account entirely, so I can try again?

    Thanks

    Hi Imre,

    1. Does the issue persist with a particular app?
    2. Were there any changes (hardware or software) made to the computer prior to the issue?

In many cases, the Windows Store will automatically notify you if there’s a problem with an app and try to fix the problem. If you continue experiencing problems with an app, or if you're unable to open the Store, try running the Apps troubleshooter.

    Troubleshoot problems with an app

If you still want to uninstall the app, refer

    Sideload Apps with DISM

    refer (Remove Apps)

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.
