    Thanks,

    1. I don't know what encryption was used. The disc had been sent to me with the note that it is a 256-bit encrypted and I have the password.
    2. In downloading Winzip, I get the "initializing" box whcih drags on for a while, then I get the error message that the "Connection failed".

    Guidance appreciated!

    Hi William,

    Thank you for the reply.

    1.       Who is the manufacturer of the disk?

    2.       Have you tried to double click on the disk and see if you get a prompt to enter the password?

    3.       Are you accessing Internet through proxy?

Check if you have you received any document/ manual that has information about decrypting the data from the disk.

    1. Are you downloading WinZip through browser or Windows store?

If you are downloading from the Windows store, let’s try the below steps.

    Method 1: Run Network troubleshooter.

    a) Press “windows Key + W”

    b) Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.

    c) Select “Network and Internet” option

    d) First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.

    e) Follow the on-screen instructions.

    f) Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: Reset store cache and check.

    a) Press Windows key + R.

    b) Type in “WSReset.exe”.

    c) Press ENTER.

    d) Restart the computer and check.

Hope this helps and do let us know if you need any assistance.

    Hi William,

We don't support issues with password nor support password recovery.

Have you used third party program to zip the file?

Refer to this article for now.
