How do I fill out the Download Location section of a new ADR when SCCM server is not internet connected?

I am new to ADRs, and I am completing my first one. We have an offline network, so we cannot pull updates from the internet.

On the Specify download location for this Automatic Deployment Rule screen I need to choose Download software updates from a location on my network because we have no internet access, but I don't know what needs to be placed here. We have an upstream WSUS (internet connected) that sends updates to our local offline WSUS (on the SCCM server). I don't understand why these updates won't be pulled directly from WSUS.

Why do we need to put anything in a network share when we have a WSUS? What am I missing here?

I have looked all over the internet for help on this, but everyone just pulls updates from the internet for this function.

    Hi @Thomas Simon ,

You can specify either the WSUSContent folder path of your offline or connected WSUS Server.

Then the ADR will download the software updates from the path to include them on its related Software Update package.

We have the same setup but it doesn't work for us when pointing the 'Download Location' to the WSUSContent folder on the offline WSUS server.

When the offlined WSUS syncs, it downloads many update .cab files from the upstream WSUS servers. However, the SCCM ADR rule seems to look for a different type of .cab file or .exe file when it runs.

@Thomas Simon - Did it work for you?

Here is the error in the ruleengine.log file. Error 3 is 'cannot find the path specified'User's image

    Thank you,
