HowTo? Change Paint default save-as format from PNG to JPG? Or be "sticky"?

Is there a way to have the default for the Paint program to save-as be .jpg rather than .png?

I sometimes use Paint for making screen-shots. I find it error prone to use because the default file-format seems to be .png. My rather uninformed understanding is that .png has advantages over .jpg. BTAIM, I rarely use the .png format, but almost always use .jpg for screen-shots.

Am I doing something wrong? Overlooking a Paint preference? Can the save-as choice be "sticky" so the next time it is used, it will remain at the previous choice?

Is there some registry entry to change? Can this be done in the Control Panel?

    Thanks. That worked fine.

I would make a revision to the above ... in that DON"T click on SAVE AS, but rather hover the mouse over the SAVE AS, then right mouse click on the JPG option. Clicking on SAVE AS will initiate saving as a PNG.
