1. Does the issue occur when you open any particular program?
2. Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

Unfortunately this does NOT work with Windows 8. You work for Microsoft? You would know that it doesn't work for Windows 8 if you really do.

I'm having a similar issues, and I followed the link and was held up with the fact that I can't find the correct log file in the location they sent me to. Ideas?

Personally I had issues opening Sims 3, however the issue is also with the fact that .NET Framework 3.5 fails to download.
