Hi i am running into a problem with the fullscreen mode for windows 7. Before the most recent update i was able to use the start menu and run other programs while staying in full screen like if i were watching a video. or bring my browser to the front but still have fullscreen running in the background. However, when i press the windows button to pull up the start menu the full screen closes. it doesnt allow me to run a fullscreen and a program at the same time anymore. is there anyway to change the settings where i can run a program and a fullscreen or do i have to go back and undo the update to do so?

    Hi,

Please answer these questions in order to understand the issue better.

    a)      What is the make and model of the computer?

    b)      What exactly do you mean by "when I press the windows button to pull up the start menu the full screen closes"?

    c)       Does the Screen Resolution changes when you try to use Start button or use any programs?

    d)      Does the full screen resolution revert backs when you close the program?

Most of the display issues are caused by corrupted graphic card drivers. Follow these method to fix Microsoft account and display issue:

Method 1: I would suggest you to update latest graphic card and device drivers which is compatible for Windows 7 from manufacturer website and check if it helps:

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

    Update drivers: recommended links

Method 2: Windows chooses the best display settings, including screen resolution, refresh rate, and color, based on your monitor. Try setting default resolution and check if it helps:

Getting the best display on your monitor

Method 3: If issue still persists, try preforming System Restore. System Restore can return your PC's system files and programs to a time when everything was working fine.

Method 4: if you know which update is causing the issue. You can hide the update, and then Windows Update won't offer it to you again unless you choose to restore it. Here's how to hide an update:

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. Do one of the following:

                          a)       Click the link that tells you important updates are available if you have important updates to hide.

                          b)       Click the link that tells you optional updates are available if you have optional updates to hide.

    1. Select any update that you want to hide, right-click it, and then click Hide update. Do this for each update you want to hide.
    2. Click OK.
