I just purchased the sculpt ergonomic keyboard . I would like to know how to open the battery door of the numeric keypad. It seems to be very tight and I don't want to apply excessive force .

Also what  is the button with a screw driver slot for?

Thanks

Hi Sportflyer,

I would suggest you to see the keyboard guide on how to open the battery case. Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop is built on advanced ergonomic principles, with a split keyboard layout that keeps wrists and forearms in a relaxed position, and a cushioned palm rest to provide wrist support. The domed keyboard shape works to reduce and correct wrist pronation that can cause pain and limited mobility.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other issues with Windows in future.

To give a useful answer (for a Support Engineer, that was a poor response ViJay), that's a screw on the back, unscrew it and then use some gentle force to pop it up.

I found this YouTube video answering this exact question (and showed me how to do it because I was confused). and FYI - it takes a CR2430 battery) which are commonly used in calculators. Based on previous experience, and what is available in stores, Energizer brand is what has lasted the longest for me: both the keyboard, and other things.

The keyboard itself requires 2 AAA batteries, which are very easily replaced on the back of the main keyboard.

I have the Sculpt Keyboard for Business, which doesn't include the mouse. Otherwise they are identical.

    Just watch the YouTube video.

Any support you need can be found here (although the user guide does not include instructions for changing the battery - Microsoft should update it)!:

    Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard for Business

I also prefer to use the Mouse and Keyboard Center Software for Microsoft -which provides additional features for the keyboard such as the Hotkeys.

The screw is an actual screw, not a locking device with an open and close position.
