Microsoft surface Pro Does the following: It will power down then after I power it up it will:

    1. Show my name
    2. your device is off liine. sign in with the last password ....
    3. No place to put password
    4. It shuts down
    5. this eliminates any chance to do anything else ....

This is a brand new surface Pro and needed it to work for a job I will have soon.

How can I start from scratch again as it seems the problem started with the updates Microsoft was making to the initial factory install of windows 10.

    I am desperate! ....

    Hi Wazzaville,

We usually receive this error message if we have typed the password incorrectly. We can also get this error message if you login to the computer for the first time after resetting your password online. You may check if the Caps Lock is turned ON while entering the password.

**Method 1:**Disconnect the computer from the Internet

As the first step, I would suggest you to disconnect the computer from the Internet.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Enable On-Screen Keyboard from the login screen

From the bottom-left corner of the login screen, click on the “Ease of access” button and then select “On-Screen Keyboard” from that menu.

Step 2: Try the new password using the On-Screen Keyboard and check.

You may first try the new password using the On-Screen Keyboard and check if that works. If that doesn’t work, then try with the old password and check.

You can also refer to the suggestion by JonBRWN from the following link and check if it helps.

Hope this helps, if you need further assistance on Windows let us know we will be glad to help.
