    Hi Shashank,

For a better understanding of the issue, let me know if you make any recent changes on the computer prior to this issue?

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons.

    1. Conflict between third party applications.
    2. Corrupt System Files.

Try the steps listed here and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode with Networking and check if the issue persists or not. If not, you may set the computer in a clean boot and check if it helps.

    Step 1:

Refer to the link to boot the computer into safe mode with Networking and check for the error message:

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)

If the issue does not occur in safe mode with Networking you may try step 2:

**Step 2:**Refer to the link to set the computer in a clean boot state. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications are causing the issue.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting steps, refer to the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to run System File Checker (SFC) scan and check if it helps.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with updated status of the issue to assist you further.

    Hi

i have directly followed the method 2 and received the below message on command prompt

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some

of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For

example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not

    supported in offline servicing scenarios.

I am unable to open the log file generated with notepad and notepad++ to see the content as i am getting access is denied like errors.

    Hi,

As you are getting this “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them” message, I recommend you to use the inbox Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM), restart the computer and perform sfc scan one more time to check the status.

Refer to the steps from this article corresponding to Windows 8.1 to use the DISM tool.

    Thank you.
