Solve PC issues-1 message

Question

I'm getting an instruction to solve a PC issue. It says "We found potential errors on a drive, and need to scan it. You can keep using the drive during the scan" There is a button saying "Scan drive for errors" but when I click on it nothing happens.

Action Center lists important messages about security and maintenance settings that need your attention. Red items in Action Center are labeled Important, and indicate significant issues that should be addressed soon, such as an outdated antivirus program that needs updating.

When the status of a monitored item changes (for example, your antivirus software becomes out of date) Action Center notifies you with a message in the notification area on the taskbar, the status of the item in Action Center changes color to reflect the severity of the message, and an action is recommended.

Let’s try the following steps and check if it helps.

Method 1:

First, I would suggest you to check if there is any pending Windows Update available on your computer.

If yes, then I would suggest you to install the update and check if it helps.

Method 2:

I would recommend you to check the System Anti-Virus settings and firewall is Turn On

Method 3:

I would suggest you to change which items Action Center checks:

a.     Press Windows + X select Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.

b.    Click Change Action Center settings.

I would suggest you to check the information in event viewer and let us know about the issue more briefly.

Event Viewer is a tool that displays detailed information about significant events (for example, programs that don't start as expected or updates that are downloaded automatically) on your computer. Event Viewer can be helpful when troubleshooting problems and errors with Windows and other programs.

 You may follow the steps to get Event Viewer on Windows 8:

a) Go to the Start Screen.

b) Type in Event Viewer.

c) This will bring up the Event Viewer box. Click to open the event viewer.

d) In the left pane, expand out Windows Logs.

e) Click on Application log. Highlight the first event in the log and use your arrow keys to scroll down.

f) Most of your event will be Information. You may see Yellow Warnings or Red Errors. If you see a red error, you can double click on it to bring it up and copy the contents to a document
