How to reset file explorer window size to default in windows 8.1?

Hi,

Yesterday I connected my laptop to my TV using HDMI cable. I changed the display option to "Second screen only". While doing this I had File Explorer window opened. The size of file explorer got automatically shrunk. Resolution of my laptop is 1366x768 and resolution of my TV is 1920x1080. When I changed display option to "PC screen only", window size remained shrunk. How can I restore file explorer size to default (whatever it was previously when windows was installed)? Do I have to change some key in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders"?

Thanks,

Jyotesh

    Hi Jyotesh,

Have you checked the laptop screen resolution after disconnecting from TV? If you have not tried, please check. If it is not set to the right resolution, please change it.

Right click on the desktop, select screen resolution and see if the right resolution is set.

I would request you to send the detailed screenshot of the Windows Explorer. Refer to the following link for instructions to upload the screenshot.

    Yes, I have checked resolution. It's 1366x768.

File explorer becomes small like this:

    Hi Jyotesh,

Double click on the Windows Title bar (you can click on This PC option that we see in the screenshot), this maximizes the Windows Explorer, now close and reopen the Windows Explorer. This opens Windows Explorer in maximized mode.
