this folder is empty

Question

This is what I get sometimes, if I go to manage click on the drive, it will open. then if I open a folder it will say this folder is empty and do the search, have to go to task manager and restart windows explorer. Sometimes works sometimes not. This has started since I installed 8.1. I t will never complete search. happens on any folder

Hi Ewayne,

Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows logo + W to open the search box.

b: Type troubleshooting, hit enter.

c: Now click System and Security.

d: Now click Search and Indexing
