I'm using windows 8.1 and have saved a PDF to my drive. I need to change this to a JPEG to send to someone. How do I find the PDF and how can it be changed to a JPEG?

Hi Drew,

There two methods to achieve this:

Method 1: Using the Snipping Tool.

This method is only a workaround and it may not be suitable if the PDF that you are trying to convert has more than 1 page.

  1. Press Windows logo key, on the start screen, type Snipping Tool, snag the section of the PDF you would like to save
  2. In the Snipping Tool interface, click Save
  3. Change Save as File Type toJPEG File and then click Save.

Note: Image that is captured using this tool might be low quality.

Method 2: You can use your favorite search engine/Windows Store and search for the converter application that helps you convert PDF file to JPEG.

Note: Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.

Hope the information provided is helpful. Do reply, if you need further help.

    Hi Drew,

If you are opening PDF files using modern app (Ex: Reader), Snipping Tool might not open, because the modern opens in full screen mode.

There is a work around, you can use Print screen option.

    Refer to this link.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/take-screen-capture-print-screen#take-screen-capture-print-screen=windows-8

    Hope this helps.

I have tried using Snip. I have been unable to get Snip to work on the PDF screen of Windows 8.1

    What am I doing wrong?
