Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5209 with Windows 8 (Upgraded from Windows 7) recently it was getting laggy and freezing so I thought I would re-install Windows 8 onto it, this was last week so it didn't happen right after I installed it, but I'm assuming that's the reason for it because I didn't do anything else unusual on my laptop

I tried to get on this morning and I got this error

Recovery

There was a problem with a device connected to your PC.

An unexpected I/O error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x00000e9

This problem can happen when a removable storage device is removed while it is in use or is failing. Properly connecting any removable storage and restarting your PC may fix the problem.

Press Enter to try again

Press F8 for Startup Settings

I have nothing connected to my laptop so I pressed F8 and tried starting it in safe mode I get this error screen

Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

The Operating System couldn't be loaded because the kernel is missing or contains errors.

File: \Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe

Error Code: 0xc00000e9

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device) contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

Also, the file name that it says is missing or corrupted sometimes changes or sometimes it is the first screen that loads

I tried putting my windows 8 (and tried Windows 7) installation disc in but it wont boot from the disc.

I just want to know how I can at least load my windows installation disc to re-install the operating system? Its barely a year old and I cant replace it, so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hello,

If you have the ISO image or setup for any of the Windows edition regardless of preview version or stable one, make a bootable flash drive with it. Now try to install the edition using this bootable drive on a empty or less used drive (making dual boot). This probably will fix the errors happened during booting. Once you installed new edition try to boot into the same. After one boot restart the system and now boot to your old edition, most probably it will boot normally now. Once it booted, format the drive on which you installed edition using bootable drive as mentioned above. Now everything should be normal.

You can also try to Reset at booting :

Hope this helps, Good luck :)
