Every time I start up my computer I get this alert from Windows Script Host saying:

I'm not sure what to do, or what startup.vbs is?

I did a search about this problem but it's all about "CPU OVERHEAT WHEN BOOTING UP" and also I search about the error code 80070002 it says that "A Windows Script Host Error 80070002 is a critical Windows Error and is caused by a corrupt registry entry. This should be repaired immediately to prevent further corruption in other applications and/or hardware. Risks include hardware failure, blue screen errors and fatal crashes."

I was afraid about this problem. I don't know about technical problem so please can you help me about this sir/ma'am?

I am currently on Windows 8; system specs if this helps:

    Hi Maclin,

Please answer this question to get more clarity on this issue.

    -          Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

This issue might occur if there are some left over files associated with a third party app. The app might not have been removed or uninstalled completely.

I recommend you to refer to the steps provided by “Shawn "Cmdr" Keene [MVP]” from this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/file-not-found-c-program-filespcdappstartvbs/5bfcb6af-bc18-4c8b-a3a5-80bd0f178eac

Further, you can disable the PCDApp entry from running at startup, using msconfig utility.

When you start Microsoft Windows, typically there are several programs that start automatically and run in the background that may interfere with the game. These programs may include antivirus and system utility programs. When you perform a clean startup procedure, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7, Windows 8:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow steps under “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” in the article to boot to normal startup.

Alternatively, you may also perform a full computer virus scan to ensure that the computer is free from virus.

Safety Scanner Disclaimer: There could be a loss of data while performing a scan using Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate virus if any.

Reply with the status of the issue and we will be glad to offer our assistance.
