I successfully installed Windows Server 2012 Datacenter on my home server. However, on the initial boot post-installation, the system tries to load Windows for 5 minutes and then I receive a blue screen and the machine restarts. I then receive the following error:
0xc0000001 - Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
After multiple tries, the machine failed to start.
I had the same problem when trying to install the first release of Server 2012 Datacenter. I have checked the system requirements on the Microsoft website and my machine satisfies them all. Here are my server specs:
PSU: Arctic Power 700W, +3.3v=30A, +5v=38A, +12v1=22A, +12v2=22A, -12v=0.6A, +5Vsb=3A
MOBO: ASRock ALIVEDUAL-ESATA2 Socket AM2 nForce3 250 / M1695, AGP8X, PCI-E 16X
CPU: AMD Black Edition Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Socket AM2 2.6GHz Energy Efficient L2 1MB
RAM: Corsair XMS2 TwinX 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400 DHX DDR2 5-5-5-18
HD: MAXTOR 250GB SATAII/300 7200RPM 8MB (Running at SATA-I speeds though)
GPU1: ASUS nVIDIA GeForce 6200 TC PCIe 128MB PCI-E
I'm about to add an extra 4GB or RAM to the machine to make a total of 8. I'm also upgrading the display card to an NVidia GTS 250 1GB GDDR5, and add two 1TB SATA-II drives for a mirrored RAID configuration.
Can someone confirm whether or not my machine meets the minimum requirements?
