    Hi Bibin,

To use all BitLocker features, your computer must meet certain hardware and software requirements. The Dynamic disks are not supported by BitLocker. Dynamic data volumes will not be displayed in the Control Panel. Although the operating system volume will always be displayed in the Control Panel, regardless of whether it is a Dynamic disk, if it is a dynamic disk it is cannot be protected by BitLocker. For a list of supported disk configurations, see the article: What type of disk configurations are supported by BitLocker?

Converting dynamic disks to basic disks : If you have converted a basic disk into a dynamic disk, you cannot change the dynamic volumes back to partitions. Instead, you must move or back up your data, delete all dynamic volumes on the disk and then convert the disk. For more information, refer to this article:  Change a dynamic disk back to a basic disk.

Important: Before you convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk, you should back up or move all the data on the disk to another volume.

Hope this is helpful. Please get back to us if you need any further assistance with Windows Operating System.

    Hi Bibin,

Ideally, this shouldn't happen automatically in any of these scenarios that you have mentioned in your post unless and untill some does it manually.

I suggest you to post this query on the Linux Forum as well and check if they have anything new to add to this.

If you need any further assistance with Windows Operating System, please post your query on Microsoft Community Forums and we’ll be glad to assist you with it.

i am using win8 till it release. i was an active user of bit locker before i  update the OS. there were no errors or problems.

then how did my disk format changed?

i tried to install the Linux os on my lap along with win os( dual Booting) . is that the action that made all this problem? is there any chance to change the disk format while doing such things?

i created a partition on my disk for installing the linux. but i did not use that os and i unistalled that very next day.
