csrss.exe disk usage

I am using Windows 8.1 and have encountered a problem where my disk usage is is usually always at 100%, i got to what i believe the root of the problem is and i found that csrss.exe is the top of the list, i went to task manager, details, and changed the columns so i could see the I/O read and write.  It shows csrss.exe I/O reads at  2,712,730 and I/O read bytes at 66,813,450.  I am suspecting these are very very high numbers and need to be brought down.  I did a little research and found out that the csrss.exe can actually be a virus in some instances and I cant figure out how to check if mine is a virus.

Running the free edition of Malwarebytes would probably be a good start.
