    Hi Ricky,

    Thank you for the reply.

The save option will directly take you to the default folder.

The Save as option gives you choice to save it in different location.

Unfortunately this is by design and cannot be changed.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reply if you need any more help.

if I go to a specific forum thread post

it does remember where i want to save for  more then one pics

but does not do it  for pics from MSN images !

    which is very strange !

I mean it would be more practical if it IE  could remember where I want to save based on the first download I do!

changing folder option is not really a practical solution!

depending on what I work  I need to save in different folders and not the default one!

just hope there is an option for doing this !

    thanks

    Hi Ricky,

    Thank you for the reply.

In order to achieve this you will have to change the default folder Location:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/download-files#ie=ie-11

And please refer to: Change the default download folder on your PC

Hope this information helps. For any further Windows related assistance, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.

    here is one situation

let say i want to find some images from MSN search!

i can pick one image  then I decide to save as

it would go by default to the picture folder!

but i want to save it somewhere else another folder of mine

so I have to select the right folder which can be like 4  7 folders deep!

then I go back to  MSN list of pics  and select another image

when I try to save it then it will still use the default folder pictures

it does not remember where i saved it the first time

so I have to re select my folders again!

is there a way to make save as to the last folder I use?

hope you are following me !

    thanks

    Hi Ricky,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want Internet Explorer to download files to a specific location.

Internet Explorer Download Manager keeps track of pictures, documents, and other files you download from the web.

Files you've downloaded are automatically saved in the Downloads folder. This folder is usually located on the drive where Windows is installed (for example, C:\users\your name\downloads). You can always move downloads from the Downloads folder to other places on your PC.

To change the Default download location in Internet Explorer, Please follow the below article:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/download-files#ie=ie-11

Hope this information helps. For any further Windows related assistance, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.
